Father's Day

Eric said Father's Day was perfect!  We had a very relaxing day at home - spent the morning sitting on the patio watching Ry play in the water and the sand.  We got into a little sandbox castle making fun too!  Eric's only request was hot wings and beer - so we went to Teakwoods for dinner!  It was a great day with my  boys!

Ry kept telling Eric he was special and "Happy Father's Day Special Daddy!" it was really cute!

Silly kid loves lemons

How is this for a smile?

much better....

A special Rylan style "cheeky" kiss!

Swimmer

Ry just finished up his swim lessons last week. He is doing AMAZING, he loves the water and has no fear!  He could care less if his head gets wet and goes under constantly and always comes up with a smile.  He is getting better at doing his big arms and kicks but still hates being on his back to float.  We continue to have many pool trips as there isn't a whole lot else to do in 110 degree weather so hoping he continues to get better and better as the summer goes on.  One of his favorite things to do is stand at the edge of the pool and count 1 - 2 - 3 and jump off into the water (we keep reminding him he needs to check with us first to make sure one of us is there to catch him!!!" SILLY BOY!!!! He also can get very assertive in telling us to "put me down!!!" in the deep water as he wants to swim on his own.  He is doing bubbles and can monkey walk along the edge of the pool really well.  We are very proud of him as he has worked hard.

Just like Daddy. . .

Ry cracked me up the other morning.  He insisted he needed a trash bag to do his "work."  I looked over and saw him pretending to put grass into the bag from his mower.  He told me he was working like Daddy.

Too Cute . . .

Ry has been talking SO much lately, it is incredibly fun to listen to and the conversations we are able to have are awesome.

Just a few things I have to write so that I remember years later -
* we were driving last week (Hayden was with us) and there were two women riding horses along the rode - Hayden said, "you see those horses Ry Guy?" Ry replied, "yeah, horses, neigh!!!" Hayden then said, "No Ry those are cowboys!!"

* Ry has been practicing talking on the play phone a lot lately and has conversations with Max and Millie (two characters in a book we have about not yelling at your friends and how to share.) His conversations always talk about where he is going, how you share and then he always adds that he will be back in a  second and sometimes just says, "yeah, uh huh" as if repeating how he hears me talk on the phone. :)

* Eric is going to kill me for writing this BUT. . the other day he farted and Ry very matter of factly said, "excuse you Daddy"  It was hilarious!

* Ry decided he was going to be a baby the other day - he crawled, wanted a paci, wanted me to feed him and even pretended to cry like a baby.  He was funny saying, "the baby wants to eat baby food, the baby wants to have paci."  Luckliy when he woke up from his nap he was a two year old again.

Here are a few pictures of two cute little snuggle bugs resting in mine and Eric's bed after nap time.
We are watching Hayden on Fridays this summer and are loving our time with him.

Happy Birthday Hayden

Today was Hayden's 3rd birthday, such a special day to celebrate such an amazing little boy!  I can still remember the day Shannon & Adam got the call from Texas that Hayden was born - their lives changed forever.  He is one boisterous, happy, remarkably smart little boy.  I feel forever blessed to be his auntie.
The morning was spent sliding down the bounce house slide and enjoying snow cones.  This evening we went back over for dinner, cake and a piƱata.  It was a super fun day spent with family.

Our weekend with Hayden

We had such a fun weekend with Hayden.  Shannon and Adam went to Tucson for the weekend and we got to have Hayden all weekend as Ry would say - they were so darn cute together and excited!!  We kept them real busy (playing in the backyard, visiting the police station where Eric volunteers, going to the pool and to the Children's Museum.  They did really well together (minus a few hitting, toy stealing, and wrestling matches! BOYS will be BOYS!  I asked Hayden if he was excited to see Mama and Daddy and his response was, "yeah but I want to sleep at Ry Ry's house again ok?"  Funny boy. . . we had to take a drive over there before bed tonight to return some forgotten things and of course to get one more good night kiss and hug.  We miss you Hayden John but let me tell you our house is a lot quieter - you are one boisterous little boy and we love you dearly!

Not the best idea Uncle Eric but lots of fun

Balloons

Grandpa Jim & Grandma Linda were so fun to bring over balloons for Rylan.  Eric, Ry and Hayden had a lot of fun making balloon hats and playing keep the balloons off the floor. They made big ones, baby ones, hats, and Eric even said, "I wish I knew how to make balloon animals!" Oh what fun these boys had.
